From my personal experience, getting sent home really depends on the time of day. If you take early morning blocks, expect to have a cart full of packages. As the day closes and most of the routes have gone out, you may get lucky to get one package or get sent home with no deliveries for an end of day shift.

I keep getting harassed by Amazon flex for undelivered packages only when I deliver from regular Amazon stations but never when I deliver from sub-same-day stations. First 10 stops in the front seat, next 20-30 in the back seat, etc. Package count is always a crap shoot but usually 3.5-5 hr blocks are almost always over 40 packages, and 3 hour TO 3.5 hour blocks are usually under 36. In the chicago area, for myself atleast, I know I can get 10-12 packages delivered an hour.

I found it strange today too. Soooo my shift was 5am-8am. I dropped the last pkg @ 7:35am and the app prompts me like WF to return to the station for more deliveries.
